As I sit here and think about … Filed under: Islamism Middle East Election 2004— Jason Hayes @ 2:30 pm
… the situation in Russia, I am increasingly struck by the ability of North Americans to forget even recent history.

This group of Islamist terrorists took several hundred Russian children hostage and then massacred them when Russian medical officials tried to pick up the bodies of people who the terrorists had killed the day before.

How many of you out there think, even for a second, that the Islamists would not do the same thing here on North American ground? (Hint for the brain dead among you - they already have). Remember that these people have openly stated they were now also targeting Canada, of all countries. How much more would they love to get another shot at the USA?

How many of you could trust John Kerry to deal with Islamist terrorism in anything approaching the same confident and capable manner that Bush has?

Remember people, John Kerry is the man who has openly derided the 35 nation coalition in Iraq as unilateralism. John Kerry is the man who has openly admitted that he would allow the UN to dictate American foreign policy. John Kerry is the man who would defer to France and Germany in setting American foreign policy. John Kerry is the man who has openly stated that he would fight a “more sensitive war on terror“. John Kerry is the man is the man who claimed that “Any attack will be met with a swift and certain response.”

As Charles at LGF noted, “Consider the implications of this statement.“. John Kerry, by his own admission, will wait for an attack and then respond.

I have three children. Each of my kids would be exposed to the same sort of cowardly and murderous attack that Kerry is willing to wait for. I look at those pictures being sent out from Russia, with little children, clad only in underwear, covered in blood, crying and clearly terrified. I read about those children, despite their wounds, grabbing for and inhaling food and water as they were not allowed access to either over the previous two days. I read about how these cowards held the children up in the windows of the school and used them as human shields. I see these innocent children purposefully targeted by Islamist murderers and it tears my heart out.

Recognizing that these lunatics would gladly hold your children up in the windows of your local school … recognizing that they would happily use fully automatic weapons to shoot your children in the back as they fled, screaming from the school … recognizing that they would joyously scream “Allahu Akbar” as they pressed the button on the detonator, wired to the explosives around their waists and engulfed your children in flames and flying debris. Recognizing all of these things and more, would you seriously be willing to allow your children to be exposed to Kerry’s laxity?

Compare Kerry’s, “I’ll get them back after they get us", response with Bush’s statement last night.

“If America shows uncertainty and weakness in this decade, the world will drift toward tragedy. This will not happen on my watch,”

As a parent, who cares for and loves his children and who can clearly see the price of even a moment of distraction from pressing the war against these murderers, I choose Bush’s proven record of taking the battle to the murderers and Islamists.

I wholeheartedly reject the Kerry plan to wait for an attack, so we can respond.
